Cord Hider Ideas for Behind the Couch and Living Room Furniture

The area behind a couch collects more cords than people expect — a lamp, a router, maybe a console or streaming box on a side table — and most of it is invisible until you actually look. Here’s how to deal with each piece without moving the furniture out first.
Lamp and Side Table Cords
Run these along the back leg of the furniture with adhesive clips rather than letting them cross open floor behind the couch. A single clip every 8–10 inches keeps the cord flat against the leg instead of sagging into view from the side.
Router and Modem Placement
If the router sits behind the couch for Wi-Fi coverage reasons, give it its own small shelf or stand rather than setting it directly on the floor — floor-level placement means more cord slack pooling where you can see it, and worse signal besides.
The Couch-to-Wall Gap
For a couch pushed close to the wall, a flat cord cover strip laid along the baseboard behind it routes everything toward the nearest outlet without needing anything mounted on the wall itself — the couch hides the strip completely.
